Migraines are a type of recurring intense headache characterized by dizziness, nausea and vomiting, spots or bright flashes before the eyes (auras), and sensitivity to light. While not much is understood about what causes migraines, it is thought that most are related to changes to the brainstem and its interactions with the trigeminal nerve. The trigeminal nerve is one of two main sensory nerves to the head and face. When the upper neck is out of alignment, it can put pressure on this nerve and the brainstem, leading to migraines. Our office is equipped with one of only three machines in the state that is FDA approved to adjust the upper neck region. The technique is called Atlas Orthogonal, and is the most gentle adjustment available. It delivers a precise, percussive sound wave adjustment to realign the atlas, or first cervical bone just under the skull. Visit www.globalao.com to learn more, or call our office!
